Ipad 3 Cases at Overstock.com!

My husband and kids surprised me big time this year for Mother’s Day.  They got me The New Ipad!  I was beside myself happy when I opened that gift.  Do you know how long I have wanted one of those????  I have not put it down once since I got it!  Well…accept for when we went shopping this afternoon to try and find a case for it.  Boy was that a trip.  I found a really cool one with camels (I like camels, remember?) all over it, but it was $85.  There was nothing special about it (well…accept for the camels!) to warrant me spending $85 on it.  If it were up to Dan, I would have this military grade case that you could probably run a tank over without destroying your ipad, but I find that to be a tad overkill.

When I got home I tried searching my favorite websites, but nothing jumped out at me.  Until I checked Overstock.com.  Are you familiar with that site?  EVERYTHING…and I mean EVERYTHING is significantly cheaper.  Same great quality…just a lesser price!  Being the kind of person I am, I immediately looked for an Overstock Promo Code.  While shipping is extremely cheap with this site, if I could find a code that would give me free shipping…I’ll take the free shipping!  Promo codes are nice though.  Simply enter the code in where it tells you to.

If you have an ipad, which kind of case do you have?  I have it in my  head what I want, but I can’t find it (and I know it is out there).  I want something girly; something with a little bling; but most importantly, I want something that is going to protect my ipad.  I’ve found a few promising cases, but something tells me there is something better out there for me.

Leave me a comment with a link to the ipad case that you use…and remember, if you have a coupon code…let me know that too!  Gotta save money where I can!

Mother’s Day Coupons to Help YOU Shop and Save!

I am a HUGE couponaholic.  No really…I am.  Every Sunday I buy 3 newspapers (at the Dollar Store) AND I take my parents coupon inserts.  I then cut out ALL coupons that I would be willing to use, if the item went on sale…so that means I am NOT brand specific (well unless it’s Mac & Cheese…nothing beats name brand Mac & Cheese) and I put them in my coupon binder that is divided up by the various sections in the store.  Yes…I do realize this is crazy to some people (I’ve been told that I am wasting my time)…BUT when I am spending less than $50 a week on groceries for a family of 4…I’ll be the craziest person of all!  Side  note:  Every other month I buy a few toiletrie items in bulk at Sams Club…but that still only adds an additional $10 or so to my monthly grocery budget…still WAY better than what most families of 4 who do not use coupons, spend.

So, as you can imagine, when I am shopping for birthday’s, Mother’s Day/Father’s Day, Christmas, etc I try to always find an online coupon.  It drives my husband crazy.  But it pays off.  We went to the large outlet malls near us and I spent about 25 minutes before we were leaving (if you ask my husband, he’ll say I held us up 25 minutes) because I KNEW I could find online printable coupons to use at the different store.  Why wouldn’t you want to save more money?  Sure it takes time to find the coupon, print it and actually remember to take it to the store, but again…it SAVES YOU MONEY!

As you know, Mother’s Day is coming up.  I’m usually the type of person that when asked what I would like as a gift, I say “oh I don’t need anything”.  Because I don’t.  And because I have the MothersDon’tSpendMoneyOnThemselves syndrome.  However, this year I made sure to nonchalontly send my husband an email that said:

Hey!  If you are looking to get me something for Mother’s Day from the kids, be sure to check out the Mother’s Day Coupons online.

I could hear him groaning when he opened the email…BUT I did see him click on the link and look around!  Again, why wouldn’t you?

AHHHHH! It’s Christmas!

I really thought this Christmas was going to suck.  I couldn’t get into the Christmas spirit.  I was in a rotten mood, etc.  My husband took this week off so we could do fun, Christmas stuff together and it really helped to get me in better spirits.  Christmas morning rolled around and the kids were absolutely hilarious.  Our daughter came running in my room shouting “it’s morning everybody”!  Our son came tearing out of his room and yells “hey, why did Santa block the steps”.  Santa’s no fool kid…no way would we leave it so you can get downstairs and tear through those gifts before we could get down there!

My most FAVORITE gift I gave was a gift to my mother inlaw and father inlaw from all three grandkids.  A gorgeous 12×12 photo panel that I made.  (if you like it and would like one made…let me know.  I make them for other people too).

My most favorite gift I received is the AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutter.  Two years ago I got a sewing machine for Christmas that I am still learning how to use.  The main thing I want to learn to make is quilts.  I saw this machine at JoAnne’s and knew I just had to ask Santa for it.  Check out the link above.  It’s a really neat machine!!

What was your favorite gift to give?  How about to received?

Moon Dough…the New Play Doh!

My kids have been BEGGING me to get Moon Dough since they saw the infomercial about it.  And let me tell you, my kids are hilarious after seeing an infomercial.  They remember all the tag lines and selling points and then come at me hard trying to convince me to buy whatever it is they think they “have to have” at that moment.

So imagine their surprise when we opened a box and in it was Moon Dough!  They were jumping up and down; screaming and yelling; you would have thought they just won a million dollars.  Nope.  Just Moon Dough!

I have to say, this stuff is pretty neat.  When I first opened the packages of dough I didn’t think it was going to do what it says it does.  It felt like sand and I truly did not think it would form into something and stay into that form.  But it does.  And my kids played for 2 hours straight with this stuff.

Now I have to admit.  I’m a Play Doh girl.  I like the way it feels.  I like the smell of it.  I like everything about it basically.  But I HATE how it dries out.  I hate how if it gets on your carpet you basically have to let it dry out and then scrub with a brush to get it up.  But Moon Dough is not like that.  It NEVER dries out.  And this is one time I can truly say never.  I left it in a pile on my kitchen table for 12 hours to test it and believe it or not, it didn’t dry out at all.  My kids were able to pick right back up where they left off.  Another thing I like is that it is hypo-allergenic and wheat free!

I won’t lie to you.  It makes a mess.  But honestly, no more of a mess than regular Play Doh makes.  Would I buy it?  Probably not.  But I don’t buy Play Doh either.  I let my kids play with that stuff at school and we do other things here…while I think Moon Dough is cool and would totally recommend it for schools, I personally don’t want the mess.

Thanks to Team Mom and Moon Dough for supplying me with the awesome farm theme package for this review.  All opinions are mine.
