Dirt Chocolate Bark with Gummy Worms

It’s SPRING! After the very weird winter we’ve had with the up and down temperatures, thunderstorms, and random snowstorms, I am very ready for spring to be here. That means we are one step closer to summer and flip flops! The thought of barbecuing and all the yummy recipes we will start making again makes me very happy. Especially this super cute Dirt Chocolate Bark with Gummy Worms dessert! This would be a super cute dessert to have at your Easter dinner! Kids would love it!

Dirt Chocolate Bark with Gummy Worms

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag of Dark Chocolate Melting Wafers (like thisdirt chocolate bark)
  • 1 C Oreos, crushed
  • 1/4 C Brown M&M’s (eat the other colors…it’s OK…recipe says so)
  • 1 Bag Sour Gummy Worms
  • 2 Pots or a double boilerdirt chocolate bark
  • 1 Cookie Sheet
  • Wax Paper

Tip…if you don’t want to pick out all the brown M&M’s, just buy this bag of ALL brown M&M’s!

Directions

  1. Add water to the bottom of the two pots (or your double broiler) and place on the stove on high until the water is boiling.
  2. Place the other pot on top, filled with the chocolate wafers. While the chocolate is melting, place wax paper on your cookie sheet.
  3. Once melted, pour onto your cookie sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the crushed Oreos overtop.
  5. Sprinkle the brown M&M’s on top.
  6. Randomly place the sour gummy worms on the dirt chocolate bark.
  7. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes before breaking apart into pieces and enjoying!

Doesn’t this dirt chocolate bark with gummy worms look delicious and fun to eat?!? Sour gummy worms are my favorite! Of course, if you aren’t a fan of the sour gummy worms, swap them out for the regular gummy worms!

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

One thing my kids love for me to make is banana bread. If they wake up or come home from school and smell that tell tale banana bread smell, they get very excited and I literally can’t keep them from trying to eat the banana bread or muffins while they are too hot! This gluten free banana cranberry muffin recipe is one they really like. If you don’t eat gluten free, simply sub your regular flour for the gluten free flour! So when I found this recipe for peanut butter banana bread, I knew I had to make it for the kids and share it with all of you!

Peanut Butter Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 C Peanut Butter (save 1 cup for peanut butter sauce)
  • 1/4 C Butter
  • 2 C Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 3 C Flour (or this gluten free flourpeanut butter banana)
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 C Salt
  • 3 Ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 12 Reese Miniatures, cut into fourths

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease one loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the sugar and eggs on medium speed until fully combined.
  3. Add the peanut butter and mix thoroughly.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the flour mixture, slowly, to the wet batter and mix until combined.
  5. Add in the mashed bananas and chopped Reese Miniatures and mix.
  6. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the peanut butter banana bread to cool completely.
  8. While the bread is cooling, take the 1 cup of peanut butter you saved and place it in a microwave safe dish and melt in 30 second increments until it is fully melted. Pour over the loaf of peanut butter banana bread.

Kit Kat Cookies Recipe

My kids love when I make “fun” cookies. They define fun cookies as cookies that are not like your traditional sugar cookie or chocolate chip cookies. Instead I like to make Rolo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies. They loved those. I’ve been asked to make them several times. The funny thing about that recipe is, I bought pre-made cookie dough! It was so easy! I think the hardest part was unwrapping all those Rolo’s! I really can’t wait to introduce them to these fabulous Kit Kat cookies! I am sure they will go crazy for them. Especially Bella…she loves Kit Kat’s!

Kit Kat Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1/3 C Sugar
  • 1/2 C Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 Large Egg, room temp
  • 1 1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 C All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 C Kit Kats
  • 1 C White Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/2 C Wilton Melting Chocolate

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line your cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar on low speed.
  3. Add your egg to the butter and sugar mixture and mix completely. Next add in your vanilla and mix completely.
  4. In another mixing bowl, combine your flour, baking soda and salt and stir.
  5. Add your flour mixture to your sugar mixture and mix until completely incorporated.
  6. Once the two mixtures are thoroughly mixed, add 1 1/2 cups of the Kit Kats and white chocolate chips. Continue to mix until well combined.
  7. Cover and chill your dough for at least 2 hours (this part is important).
  8. Using your cookie scoopkit kat cookies, scoop cookie dough onto your lined cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Remove the cookie from the sheet and place on a wire rack to cool.
  10. Melt your Wilton Melting Chocolate and pour about a tablespoon of melted chocolate onto the center of each cookie. Add the remaining chopped Kit Kats on top.

Tip: Pick up a set of these silicone baking mats. They make any surface, including your baking sheets, nonstick! Don’t bake without them!

Strawberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Christmas is over and Valentine’s day is quickly approaching. I still have one child in elementary school so she’s been pretty excited trying to think up creative Valentines to make for her classmates. Knowing Bella, she will hand make 28 Valentines. She just loves doing that stuff. While she is busy making things for her classmates, I will be making these delicious Strawberry White Chocolate Chip cookies! Move over sugar cookies, there is a new cookie for the cookie jar! Be sure to check the end of the post for a gluten free version of this recipe!

Strawberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the cake mix, oil and the eggs in a mixing bowl and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Add in the white chocolate chips and mix until well combined.
  4. Using a Cookie Scoopstrawberry white chocolate chip, scoop some dough onto parchment paper lined baking sheets, making sure they are 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Once baked, allow the cookies to cool for about a minute or two on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tip: Pick up these silicone baking sheets. You will use them for so much and they turn any baking sheet or surface non-stick instantly! Oven safe and easy clean-up too!

Don’t these strawberry white chocolate chip cookies look and sound amazing?!? I haven’t tried this yet, but if you would like to try making these cookies gluten free, I would buy a gluten free white cake mix and add a box of strawberry gelatin to it. Sweet and Salty Cookies Recipe

Have you ever been sitting there eating pretzel sticks when all of a sudden you have this sudden urge to eat something sweet? Like if you don’t eat it right then and there, there will be problems? It can’t just be me! One of my favorite combinations is sweet and salty together. I was at Costco once and they were sampling a delicious chocolate with sea salt sprinkled on top. They were to die for! So good! If you’re like me, then you will love this recipe for sweet and salty cookies! It’s the perfect amount of sweet with the perfect amount of salty all wrapped up in a cookie!

Sweet and Salty Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the cake mix, oil and eggs in a mixing bowl and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Add in the Reese baking chips, M&M’s and the pretzels. Mix until well combined.
  4. Using a small cookie scoopsweet and salty cookies, scoop some dough onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Once baked, pull the sheet out of the oven and let sit for 1-2 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to fully cool.

Is your mouth watering yet? My gosh these sound amazing, don’t they? The nice thing about these cookies is that you can change them up for your individual taste. Take out the Reese baking chips and add dried cranberries instead. Maybe even swap out the regular M&M’s and use one of the white chocolate M&M’s (I forget the exact name for those, but I’ve seen them at Target before). The possibilities are endless!
