Easter Placemat Printable

In our house, we love to get together for Easter. One of my favorite things to do is go to my mother in-laws house to decorate Easter eggs. She makes enough hard boiled eggs so that each person has a dozen or so eggs to color (we usually have about 10+ people decorating eggs). It’s crazy, but so much fun! Like other families, we also enjoy a nice meal together. With a lot of little kids running around and needing something to occupy them, this Easter Placemat printable is perfect!

Isn’t it cute?!? Think about how nice it will be on Easter to get the kids situated at their spot at the table and have them be occupied with their Easter placemat and not running around, getting in the way of everyone setting the food out? Sounds pretty heavenly to me!

For less than $10, you can pick up these crayons from Amazon and give each kid a pack of crayons! That way everyone has their own pack of crayons and there is no fighting!

If I’m being honest, I’d probably go a step further and pick up these adorable activities books too and put together a little kiddie place setting with the Easter placemat, a pack of crayons and an activity book for each child. Not only are you keeping them occupied during dinner set up, but you are keeping them occupied for a bit after dinner while the adults finish! Even if it’s only for a little bit, it’s still worth it!

Goal Setting Free Printable

We are nearing the end of the year (can you believe it?!?) and people are already talking about what their New Years Resolutions will be. To be honest with you, I am not one to set New Years Resolutions. I feel like, when I do, I fail each and every year before January is even up. I think it’s because the word resolution makes it sound all or nothing. Like you either succeed at it or fail. Instead, I prefer to make a couple goals. Goals are things you strive for. You may succeed, you may not, but regardless, it has that “I’m working towards this” kind of feel. Goal setting really worked well for me this year and I want to help you with your 2017 goals!

Why Goal Setting?

Well…like I said above, goal setting, for me, just sounds nicer. It sounds like something you are setting out to do and if you fail, it’s OK…just try again. With resolutions it sounds like an all or none type of thing and, I don’t know about you, but if I am trying to change certain things for the better, I don’t want that kind of pressure (even if it is pressure I put on myself).

How Goal Setting Helped Me

Just before the clock struck midnight and it became 2016, I decided that I was going to set two goals for myself the new year. The first goal, to help me mentally, I wanted to do something for myself that I truly enjoy. Read. I wanted to take time each and every day to read more. Even if it’s just 15 minutes, I wanted that time set aside. So I joined Goodreads and I set a reading goal of 50 books read for the year. I just finished my 67th book! My Kindle Paperwhitegoal setting really helped me that goal because of how light and portable it is. It went everywhere with me!

The second goal was set to help me physically. I had gained a tremendous amount of weight and I was tired of carrying it around. Not to mention, I wasn’t getting any younger. I did not want to be 100 lbs overweight when I hit 40. All you hear is how hard it is to lose weight after 40 and I didn’t want to be this heavy for the rest of my life. So both my husband and I started following the Keto diet and I have currently lost 79.2 lbs!

Since I firmly believe that it is important to write out, tell someone and see our goals daily, I made you all this free Goal Setting printable that you can print out as many times as you like. Give one to your children, your friends…anyone you like. However, and most importantly, pick three goals that you would like to focus on for 2017 and write them on the printable. Think of things that will benefit you mentally, physically and emotionally. Next, post that printable on your fridge, your bulletin board, where ever you will see it daily and work towards those two things.

Your goals don’t have to be elaborate. If you don’t have weight that you want to lose or even want to focus on losing weight, an example for a goal physically could be something like “I want to park further from a stores entrance to get a little exercise each day“. These are your goals and they can be anything you like! Another good idea would be to print this out for your kids and help them make goals for their year. I am a firm believe that everyone should have something they are trying to work towards!

What is one goal you might set for 2017?

Thankful ABCs Printable

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. It’s a holiday to sit back with your friends and family, eat some good food and just enjoy each others company. There are no gifts or expectations, you just sit, eat and talk (and eat some more!). In our family, every other year, we have a HUGE Thanksgiving get together with over 70 people. It’s crazy loud; tables are everywhere; there is a ton of food, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. It’s just so much fun! Almost everyone has kids running around, often times sneaking cookies or other treats the parents don’t want them to eat before dinner is ready. This year, set the kids down with this Thankful ABCs FREE printable!

Dear Santa Free Printable

Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner? My kids, like most kids, are already starting to talk about what they want for Christmas. I know they are getting older, so obviously their wants are getting bigger (and more expensive), but this year we have decided to rein them in a bit and sort of guide their “wants” with this Dear Santa free printable. This way they are writing down things they want, but also thinking about things they need to. After adopting a 16 year old girl for Christmas and seeing things like a winter jacket, boots and clothing items on her Christmas list, it really got me thinking about my own kids Christmas lists. I don’t want to take away the magic and fun of Christmas, but I think with this Dear Santa free printable, kids can ask for the things they really want and also think about things they need too.

What I like most about this free printable is it gets kids to really think about what they are asking. With my middle school son, he’s always asking for shoes or name brand clothes that are outside of the budget we set for things like that. Sometimes, when he’s asking for a particular pair of shoes of maybe a sweatshirt that is outside of that budget we set, we tell him “make sure you put it on your list for Christmas“. It’s not that we don’t want to get him (or our daughter) the shoes they would like, but by redirecting them to consider asking for it for Christmas, it allows us to really see if they truly want it or do they want it because it’s the cool thing at that moment. More times than not, they don’t really want those shoes…they just think they do because some kids at school have them and they are “cool”!

And please, don’t think that by giving this Dear Santa free printable to your kids that you are only getting them five presents! You’re mom and dad, get them as many presents as you would like. This just helps narrow down their thinking and really allows them to think through what they are asking! For instance, for the past couple years, my daughter has asked for some old school TV series on DVD. One year we got her the Full Housedear santa complete series (which, if you are thinking about it, this is amazing price for it right now). Another year we got her the complete series for Boy Meets Worlddear santa (again, this is another amazing price). So, continuing with tradition of introducing her to the amazing TV we had in the 80’s and 90’s, I’m thinking about getting her the complete series for Saved By the Bell or maybe even Family Tiesdear santa!

Please feel free to print the free Dear Santa printable! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Party Planning Printable

Once I started having kids, I began to really love party planning. I would start planning their birthday parties months in advance so I could figure every single little detail. For my sons first birthday, I knew I wanted to have an Elmo themed party. He was obsessed with Elmo at the time, so it seemed like the perfect theme for a first birthday party. For my daughter, it was only a given that I did a princess themed party. She was the first daughter and first granddaughter. It’s a good thing I picked that theme because my little princess now hates everything pink or anything that has to do with princesses!

One of the most important things I’ve found when party planning is to write things down. I’d love to say I have a great memory, but I’m so busy all the time that I tend to forget  things. So I write it down. However, if you are like me, you then end up with a bunch of scrap papers with details written down. See where this is going? You are back to forgetting because you’ve lost the little scrap pieces of paper!

Until now!
