How would you like to foster a love for reading for your children while also helping to set their imaginative juices flowing? Well the new Interactive Book-Webscene (IBW) books do just that and more!! Reading becomes fun for children because what they are hearing or reading comes to life in front of them on the computer.
There are 9 KA Readers that use the components of a phonics based program (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension). Each story has a theme (for example, “it is good to help friends!”) and a word family (for example, -ear, -og, -ond, and -out).
After reading a chapter in the KA Readers, you will find a web address to go to for a webscene that acts out what was just read. In one of the stories we recieved, Where Can Lost Bee Be? one of the webscenes showed the vivid colors that were talked about in the chapter along with the word for the color popping up on the screen. It helped to make things more concrete for my kids. For example, in the story the bee went to an orange flower. In the webscene you see a bee flying over an orange flower and the color orange popping up on the screen. So for younger readers like my daughter, she sees the orange color that we read. For my son, who is older, he was able to see the color, identify that it was indeed orange and also associate the word orangewith the color.
All KA Readers include:
- “About the book” (page 4) which explains the IBW process
- “Spanish text included” (page 5) which has word-for-word comparison text
- Animations or Webscenes that contain pop up words that identify the objects and concepts to make what they read more concrete
- Story theme, word count, reading grade level, and word pattern families
- Online links to “Reading Support Activities” and “ESL Support Activities”
For those of you that would like to make a little extra money, and who doesn’t in this day and age, you can become an IBW Bookseller! The very first thing I learned is that the IBW website has very loud music that plays… not the greatest thing to learn when you're reading the site at work! I also learned that there are 4 series of IBW books.

Leather Diaries says
Interesting!
A diary or a personal journal is your most intimate confidante. You can confidently share your secrets with it knowing that your personal diary will not talk to someone. So you should be very careful about your personal dairy. Leather is one of the most versatile materials that finds application in many areas. I would suggest to maintain a leather dairy instead of any normal dairy.
