We are quickly approaching the cold and flu season. And with our kids going back to school, we are bringing many more germs into our house. I don’t know about your house, but in my house I am the one that always gets sick…the kids and my husband bring all the crud into the house and I am the one who gets sick. For instance, at the beginning of August, I came down with pneumonia. And trust me, if you haven’t had this before, thank your lucky stars!
So when I was approached to review Lysol’s Disinfecting Wipes and Spray, I knew I needed to jump on it. My house needed to be wiped and sprayed from top to bottom. And believe me, that is the first thing I did when my package came. And the nice thing is, the spray had a nice crisp linen scent to it so my house smelled wonderful!
LYSOL® Disinfectant Spray is an EPA registered disinfectant that kills
more than 99.9% of illness causing bacteria and viruses including
H1N1, the common cold and staph MRSA. Unlike other sanitizing
products which only kill bacteria on hard surfaces, LYSOL®
Disinfectant Spray is also approved to kill 99.9% of illness-causing
bacteria on soft surfaces. It even works to control the growth of
mold and mildew, among the most common type of allergens, on
surfaces you seldom think of like plastic shower curtains.
I used the spray on EVERYTHING in my house. Especially things that are touched most often like:
- Bathroom and bedroom doorknobs
- Front door and back door handles
- Refrigerator handle
- Countertops
- Kitchen table and chairs
- Furniture
The disinfecting wipes were nice for quick jobs like wiping down door handles everyday, wiping down the fridge everyday, etc. All in all, I would DEFINITELY purchase this product in the future. I prefer the spray over the wipes, but thats only because I am weird about touching things and I really hate touching wet wipes (yes I am fully aware that I am weird lol)!

I learned that 60% of all human infections are caused by viruses! Thanks!

I learned that products listed as soaps or cleaners may help to remove germs from surfaces and hands due to mechanical action, but they do not actually kill them. Only products registered as sterilants, disinfectants, sanitizers or antiseptics kill germs.
Now I know to always check the labels!

I learned that "viruses are shed in huge quantities when someone is ill, and it doesn't take very many of them to make you sick." YIKES!
