If you’ve been reading my blog, you would know that just before Christmas, I received several video games in the mail to review. Like I mentioned in my Silly Bandz DS game review, my kids were ecstatic! They like when packages come in the mail…they like it even more when the packages are for them.
Shawn Johnson’s Gymnastics for the Wii was the last game I received in the mail. I was really excited to try this game because you have the option of using the Wii Fit board or not using it. After the first 5 minutes of playing, I had to put the Wii Fit board away. I am just not that coordinated to use the Wii Fit board while trying to attempt the various gymnastic moves (but I also cannot pat my head and rub my belly at the same time either so…)!
This game is definitely one my 4 and 6 year old cannot play. It was just way too difficult for them. However, my husband and I got really competitive with each other and actually enjoy playing once the kids go to bed. What I like is that the game has a practice mode, allowing you to learn each of the moves first, before you go ahead and play on the career mode. If I had one complaint with the game, it’s that if you are not starting your routine fast enough, Shawn Johnson yells “come on! Hurry up”. I find myself telling her to “stuff it” on a number of occasions. I need to focus!
Shawn Johnson’s Gymnastics is available on the Wii and Nintendo DS!
Thank you to Zoo Games for providing me with a copy of the game for the purpose of this review. You may have a different opinion than mine that is stated on this review. Diaries of a Domestic Goddess is not responsible for your differing opinion.
