When my husband and I got married, we got our first house. We knew this house was not going to be our “forever” home, but it was what we could afford at the time. Then we started a family. With a baby came TONS of stuff. Our son wasn’t even 4 months old and we were being pushed out of our house. So we bought our current house…our “real” house. One day we may use Marketplace Homes to build our dream home.
Despite being in our “real” house, I know that there is a “really REAL” house out there for me. This “really REAL” house is a cross between The Brady Bunch meets Beverly Hills 90210. What do I mean by that? Well I want each of my bedrooms to have their own private bathroom (a.k.a. Beverly Hills 90210) and I want my downstairs to be open and spacious with lots of room for couches and comfortable chairs (a.k.a. The Brady Bunch). Another must in my house would be the kitchen. It must be a replica of The Brady Bunch –large island, ovens in a stone wall, and my very own Alice to take care of things for me!
But can I have those things? Will I be able to sell my house to have the house of my dreams built?
If you asked me a couple weeks ago I would have said “no way in hell”. Like most places, the value of my house completely dropped. But thanks to my snazzy new job, I am learning that my dream can definitely become a reality. This would be a dream come true. The only way to get you really, real house is to build it yourself because there’s always things about a ready-made home you would have done differently.
I totally agree. I think very few people walk into a “ready made home” and say “this is PERFECT…exactly what I wanted”!
