When my husband lost his job, one of the things that got put on hold was things that weren’t exactly “necessary”. Things like haircuts for me, eyebrow waxing (yes…I wax my brows!), and contacts. Sure I need to see, but I do have glasses. Do I want to wear my glasses? Of course not. I’ve always hated wearing glasses. I distinctly remember when I got them. I was in 4th grade and the day I walked in wearing them, the kids immediately started making fun of me. It. Was. Horrible.
Since then, I’ve got much more trendier looking glasses…I was in 4th grade in the 80’s after all…but I still don’t like wearing them. You get a smudge on it and if you don’t have something “safe” to wipe them with, you could end up scratching the lens. But with only me working, going to the eye doctor and buying another supply of contacts had to be put on hold. So I’ve been making my supply last as long as possible. I’m down to my last pair and I’m starting to sweat. I really want to continue wearing contacts. So I’m doing something I do best…make a list of the different places I can purchase my contacts with how much they cost to see where I get the most bang for my buck.
Being the coupon extraordinaire that I am, this type of thing is right up my alley. Some of the places I am checking, besides my regular eye doctor are Sam’s Club and Costco. But then it hit me! You can get everything under the sun online…I had to check online sources for my contacts. And what better place than 1-800 Contacts?!? As soon as I checked out their site, I knew I had to call and get a price…you know why? Oh this gets my coupon loving heart beating super fast…they have a guarantee that they will BEAT any price by 2%!!! Instant savings!
My very first set of contacts I purchase from 1-800 Contacts will be a pair of colored contacts. I haven’t worn colored contacts since high school! I have really dark blue eyes, but how fun would it be to change it up and make them green, violet, or even brown like my sons?!?
Have you ordered from 1-800 Contacts before? Leave me a comment and let me know about your experience with them!
