The Plymouth Canton Community school district (PCCS) made national news on The Today Show regarding the bullying issue and the lack of help from administrators. See the clip below:

I’m sure this is the last thing PCCS would like to be in the headlines, but maybe it’s the wake-up call that administrators need to see that bullying is an issue and WE have to take a zero tolerance approach to dealing with it. Why a principal would not want to seem like a hero to a child being bullied is beyond me. All it takes is a little consistency and showing their school that bullying behavior will NOT be tolerated to make a difference. Will kids be kids? Sure. But I guarantee you, if a principal stands up and shows the children in the school who’s boss and shows them that bullying behavior will not be tolerated, the incidences in the school will be far and few between.

Leave me a comment telling me what you think the schools should do to handle bullying behavior. I have my ideas, but I’d love to hear yours!

I hate when schools turn a blind eye to bullying. We are losing too many youth because of bullying.
