There I was, laying in bed when my phone buzzed. I reached over to see who emailed me. Imagine the excitement I felt when I saw that it was an email asking me if I wanted to take part in the “Sweet Independence with Hershey’s Simple Pleasures”! I love chocolate. It is one of my downfalls; something I have eat in severe moderation. Which if you know me, that is SOOOO hard to do! But having Type 2 Diabetes, I have no choice.
Hershey’s Simple Pleasures chocolates have 30 percent less fat than the average leading milk chocolate!
I’ll let that sink in for a moment. Oh and show you a picture of this extreme awesomeness!
While I was very excited about the fact that these chocolates have 30 percent less fat, I had to check out the serving size and carbohydrate count. You see, being Type 2 Diabetic, those are very important to me and my personal diet plan. When I saw that the serving size was SIX chocolates, I screamed! No really, I did. My daughter was sitting with me and she dove off the chair thinking I saw a spider or one of those creepy centipedes. But I didn’t. What I was screaming about was that with a carbohydrate count of 28 for six chocolates, this makes an excellent pick me up snack for me. Because I limit my sugar intake, I can eat just one here or there and the carbohydrate count is perfect for me! I immediately went for the chocolate with vanilla cream. Delicious. Absolutely delicious!
These Hershey’s Simple Pleasures will definitely be something I keep around my house! My husband really liked the Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Creme. Me, not so much…but I am not a huge dark chocolate fan so don’t go by me on that one! Be sure to check out the Hershey’s Simple Pleasures new Facebook page. Be sure to declare what you are celebrating YOUR independence from!

So glad you can eat these, Leah. And that they’re good! My oldest son has severe tree nut allergies so it’s tough finding certain foods (particularly candy) that’s safe for him to eat. I’d totally squeal too!
Do you know if there’s any nut warnings on these by chance?

It doesn’t say on the bag…that I can see. I would probably contact Hershey’s. Their number is on the bag: 1-800-468-1714!
Hope that helps!
