Today we spent HOURS at Bella’s cheerleading competition. Thankfully we were able to leave Zachary with my parents. I don’t think he would have tolerated it. Shoot…I barely tolerated it! Don’t get me wrong, it was cute to watch Bella get up in front of a hundred or so people and do her cheer and dance she has been working so hard on, but at the same time…it was a long day and we only watched Bella for a few minutes each time. The rest of the time, we sat there squished on all sides. Literally.
Our day started bright and early. I woke up at 5 a.m. to shower and get dressed and Bella came bouncing in my room at 5:45 a.m. She was so excited to spend the day with the older girls! Here eyes were literally glowing. Mine, on the other hand…not so glowy! After getting her dressed in her cheer uniform, we were off! She had to be at the high school at 6:45 a.m. to check in with her team and practice before the competition started. After dropping her off with her coaches, Dan and I went to get some breakfast. We needed all the fuel we could get for what we were about to endure.
Bella and the rest of her team did an excellent job…they didn’t get a medal, but they did really well. Since Bella was one of the mascots, she wore a ribbon indicating that she was a mascot and then the judges knew not to included her in points and deductions.
Bella was completely wiped out at the end of the day. So much so, she could barely walk…but that didn’t stop us from taking her to a special dinner to anywhere she chose. At first she chose Chili’s because she loves the cinnamon apples, but then told us she wanted to go to Red Robin because she likes their ice cream sundaes!
All in all, despite the fact that it was an incredibly long day, it was nice to see Bella accomplish something that she worked so hard doing.
