Last night, my husband and I went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with my brother and his wife. My parents have been to the show a handful of times and have always raved about it. They decided to buy us all tickets because they knew we would like it too. And we did! Here’s what the stage looked like before the show started…we had great seats. Our view of the entire stage was perfect!
The first half of the show was narrated. I wasn’t too sure what to expect. After each song or set, the narrator would come back out and tell us the next part of the story.
In all honesty…I could have done without the narration. Don’t get me wrong, The Lost Christmas Eve was a touching story about a banker who lost his wife during childhood and when he found out that his son was brain dead and not likely to learn to walk or talk, he abandoned him to the state. While I could have done without the depressing story, thankfully it had a happy ending with the father being reunited with the son that he abandoned. But I couldn’t help but think, “a little too late banker“. I mean really? Abandon your son because he may never speak or walk? He didn’t even wait around to find out all the details about his sons condition…he just left him to the state to take care of and walked away.
While the music was great during the first half, it was AMAZING during the second half. I could have sat their all night and listened to them play! Their stage production with the multi-colored lasers and the pyrotechnics were great. My most favorite part was when they took crowd surfing to the next level and played out over the crowd!
I really want to go to one of their spring shows. I don’t know if there is a story that goes along with that show (I hope not), but I did hear someone say that it is a show you don’t want to miss!
Oh and because I want to show off my awesome new camera, check out the amazing zoom on it:
