Right now Zachary is playing on a youth basketball team and having a blast! At his last game, the boys on his team were playing awesome. They were scoring left and right; two pointers, three pointers…just a bunch of animals out on the court. My favorite part is when they run up to someone on the other team that has the ball and they just rip it out of their hands. It just  makes me laugh every time! I don’t know if it’s because a lot of our boys played football together that they are more aggressive than most, but it’s pretty funny to watch. However, not as fun as it was to watch Zack score! When he scored, you could tell he was so proud of himself!

He Scored in the Game!
So like I was saying, they were playing REALLY well last night. The other team did something to cause Zack to have to do foul shots. He was excited. You could see it…he was dancing in a circle (yes…yes he was)! They line the kids up on either side and gave the ball to Zack. I took out my phone and held my breath. I really really wanted him to score on these foul shots. Check out what happens:
HE MADE IT!! He scored!
The Excitement was Unreal!
I was so excited for him! So much so, I had tears in my eyes. Zack was beyond excited! His coach told him good job and a couple kids slapped him on the back. For Zachary, a kid who sometimes feels like he has a hard time succeeding at things, this was HUGE for him!
This morning he said to me:
“Did you see that shot I made yesterday?? Â It didn’t win the game or anything since we were already kicking butt, but it sure helped!”
So proud of him! Â And this is exactly why I sign my kids up for team sports. Â The satisfaction and self-esteem boosting they provide sure out weigh all the driving around I have to do! Â What activities do your kids do?
