10 years ago my husband and I got married. We had your traditional Eastern Orthodox wedding. While the wedding was beautiful, I really wanted to get married outside. Apparently in the Eastern Orthodox faith, you can’t get married outside. I was OK with that…I mean, in the end, I just wanted to marry him. But I knew, in the back of my mind, that one of these days we would have our dream beach wedding.
I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii on vacation. After I started researching Hawaii, I found that a lot of people get married on the beaches there…and the neatest thing is all the traditions they have when it comes to weddings! When we got married 10 years ago, we had a really bad photographer so I barely have any pictures of our wedding. That’s always made me sad, but how awesome would wedding pictures look with a Hawaiian backdrop?!? Now even though I want to get married out on the beach, I would love to have a picture in front of this cute little chapel:
I already know where I would hang this picture in my house!
While we’re there, I’d love to go on a humpback whale sighting trip. When we first got married, my mom got my husband a CD of Humpback Whales sounds…I don’t really remember why, but it was pretty funny! But regardless of how funny it sounded, there was something really intriguing about it as well. Not to mention, how awesome would it be to see such an amazing animal up close and personal like that?!?
My biggest dream, since I can remember, has always been to swim with dolphins. I remember watching an episode of Baywatch (yes…that show with David Hasslehoff!) and they were swimming with dolphins. I wanted to do that so badly, but I’ve never been in a place where I could do it. But when we’re in Hawaii…
How could you not want to swim with that?!? Look at that face! I have to say, I would feel a tiny bit bad swimming with the dolphins and not having my daughter there to do it too. She loves dolphins almost as much as she loves penguins (she wants to work with penguins some day). But I would still do it!
A vacation like this is going to cost a lot of money, but being the frugal person that I am, I’m always on the look out for coupons for everything I buy. I like to visit sites like netvoucherscodes while I am shopping online. Whether it’s coupons for flights, hotels, meals…it doesn’t matter. I just want to save money! The most money I can! Check out this page for great holiday discounts. Saving money will allow us do to a lot more while we are visiting Hawaii…things such as:
A Hula Dancing show
Snorkeling
Beautiful Sunsets
This would definitely be a trip of a lifetime. I don’t know when we will take this trip…maybe our 15th anniversary…but when we do, I know it will be amazing. The best part, we’ll be saying “I do” all over again!

The first time we went to Hawaii, I won the trip from work (a sales contest). It was nice but not as nice as if we had gone on our own because we had work related activities to attend. We went for our 15th anniversary in 2006 and it was amazing. Even with the earthquake…yup, we were there for the big one. No power, food or running water for a whole day but we were in paradise. It was all good 😀
