Being that I have a background in teaching, I am very passionate about my children’s education and I love games and products that teach them. So when I was asked if I would like to review some products from Super Duper Publications, my answer was a very quick, “YES”! Not only are these products good for home use, they are also great if you are looking for an idea for your child’s teacher for the holidays! I know they would appreciate it!
Magne Talk Telling Time
Telling time is a difficult concept for kids to grasp. With the Magne Talk Telling Time magnetic board, kids are able to practice telling time on a traditional clock, on a digital clock AND they can practice making sentences using words that pertain to time! Retails for $21.95.
Classifying Photo Fish
This is truly a really cute game! Each fish has a different picture on it. Either an animal, something from around the house, transportation, clothing or food is pictured on each fish. At the start of the game, each kid is given a category card and the object of the game is to catch as many fish as you can that fit in your category! This will help with sorting and classifying! Classifying Photo Fish retails for $43.95.
Story Prediction Fun Deck
One of the biggest things kids need to work on in school is reading comprehension. With the Story Prediction kit, kids are able to listen to or read a story card and then choose the answer that best fits how the story would end. If they are doing this alone or with a partner, they can self check their answers using the Super Duper Secret Decoder (the correct answer is highlighted in invisible ink)! Retails for $32.95.
500 Prefixes, Suffixes, and Stems
This particular product really works to expand your child’s vocabulary. Each card has a word part, like Photo. On the back of the card there will be the meaning of that word part (light) and two words that use that word part and their meanings (photograph and photosynthesis). 500 Prefixes, Suffixes, and Stems comes with it’s own case to hold all the cards (thank goodness! Can you imagine having to keep track of 500 cards?!?) and it retails for $49.95.
Go for the Dough
This is another vocabulary building game. I have to say, this is my favorite. With this game, the object is to make it all the way around the board to Grandma’s house to deliver a pizza. You do this by answering a particular category correctly. Your category choices are: synonyms, definitions, rhyming words, opposites, categories and multiple meanings. If you answer correctly, you place your Super Dough Dollars in the middle. The first person to grandma’s house wins all the money in the center! Go for the Dough retails for $49.95.
Ticklin’ Tongue Twisters Pencils
Every classroom ALWAYS needs pencils. Why not get a pencil that also has a fun tongue twister on it? These make great stocking stuffers or party game prizes for the holiday party!! A pack of 60 Ticklin’ Tongue Twisters Pencils retail for $15.85! That’s a bargain!
My Thoughts
Every product I tested is made of high quality material that is made to go through many different hands. This is important for both school and home use. I really like that the Go for the Dough Super Dough Dollars are made from material that will not tear (but don’t laminate…they’ll melt). Overall, I think these are perfect as gifts for your classroom teacher. Sometimes schools do not allow you to get a personal gift for the teacher, but gifts donated to the classroom are allowed…definitely check out Super Duper Publications for your holiday teacher gift giving needs!!
