This past Sunday my son turned 10 years old. I am still in shock that it is already his 10th birthday. I mean, in 3 short years, I will have a teenager. Next I’ll have a kid driving and finally, a kid graduating high school. I am not one to freak out over age or my kids getting older, but the fact that my child has reached the double digits, is just nuts.
Look at how cute he is:
This year, rather than have a friend birthday party, I made a deal with Zack…either he has a friend party with a couple friends or he can have $100 towards an ipod Touch (though now he’s changed his mind and wants to save for an ipad Mini). Zack, being Zack, took the cash! I knew he would. We did invite family over for a BBQ for his birthday. One of the best parts of his party was his cake. For the last couple years I have paid a woman from their school to make the kids cakes. You see, I am NOT a cake decorator, but she makes gorgeous cakes. All I have to do is give her a picture and she recreates it. This year I decided to go with a lacrosse theme:
Here are two other cakes she made for my kids. I have to say, the alligator is my absolute favorite cake ever!! Not only are the cakes good, but the fondant, which normally tastes gross to me, is made with marshmallow and it delicious! Don’t even get me started on the frosting. It’s so good!
If you are local and would like a gorgeous cake like this, visit the Canton Cake Mama on Facebook! Take a look at the album and tell me…what’s your favorite cake???
