My kids have been asking me to make the cake with a hole in it (a bundt cake) for quite some time. I don’t know why they like that particular cake pan so much, but they do. So that was on my agenda for today…only I was out of flour, sugar and butter. Trip to Target for me! Sure I could have gone to the grocery store, but Target sells butter…seems like a good enough reason to go to Target to me!
I don’t know if you have seen the new TruMoo milk flavor at the store right now, TruMoo Orange Scream, but I knew that with Halloween right around the corner, I had to do something with that new flavor. It tastes exactly like that orange and vanilla frozen treat I used to eat as a kid! I decided that I was going to substitute the TruMoo Orange Scream in place of white milk in my vanilla bundt cake recipe.
Vanilla Bundt Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 stick of butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup TruMoo Orange Scream milk
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
Vanilla “Drippy” Frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 5 TBS TruMoo Orange Scream milk
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease your bundt pan and set aside.
- Beat the sugar, butter and eggs together until they are blended. Add in the TruMoo Orange Scream milk and vanilla and mix well.
- Add the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour into your prepared bundt pan and drop the pan on the counter until it’s level.
- Bake for about 35 minutes. Check with a toothpick and continue cooking for a few more minutes, if need be.
- While your bundt cake is cooling on a wire rack, combine all of the indgridients for the vanilla “drippy” frosting and mix well. You want this to be thick, but capable of pouring. If it is too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
- When your bundt cake is cool, pour the vanilla “drippy” frosting over top of it.
