One of the hardest things about finding out I am diabetic was the thought of giving up things I truly love, like bread. More specifically…croissants. Their buttery goodness, whether you are dipping them in a bowl of soup or enjoying one for breakfast, the idea of giving them up was too much. And give them up is exactly what I did, until I received an email asking if I would like to review a package of Thomas Sandwich Croissants.
My first question was “how many carbs are there per serving”…part of me figured I would be told that there were 45+ carbs per serving which would make it impossible for me to eat this since I only allow myself 45 carbs per meal. When I got the email back telling me that each Thomas Sandwich Croissant only has 21 carbs, I was ecstatic! I could have this!
Let me tell you, these are delicious! And there are so many things you can do with them. Chicken or tuna salad for lunch…or how about a fried egg and bacon for breakfast? My kids like me to butter them and put it in the microwave for a few seconds! Really the possibilities are endless.
Thomas Sandwich Croissants are all pre-sliced and come in packs of 6 and are only 160 calories per serving! Right now, Thomas Sandwich Croissants are only available in supermarkets in CT, NJ and NY (bummer for me). They retail for $4.59.
Hopefully once Thomas realizes how popular these are, they will be available nationwide!! One can only hope!
