Big Boy Dinner from Hell

I told my kids I would take them out to dinner tonight.  It was just the three of us so I let them pick.  They wanted to go to the “fat boy holding a hamburger” place a.k.a. Big Boys.  I was less than thrilled, but hey I told them they could pick.

Within 5 minutes of sitting in our booth, I should have known dinner was going to be a disaster, but I was a glutton for punishment and stayed.  The waitress set Zachary’s styrofoam cup down and he immediately stabbed it with a fork, sending a spray of root beer across the table.  WTH possessed him to do that???  I asked the waitress for napkins and to bring him a water.  She actually had the audacity to say “you’re gonna let him have more after he did that?”  Um…is it your business?  Just bring the damn napkins and water.

I take a sip of my Diet Pepsi and it was nasty.  It tasted like all the pops were mixed together.  I told her that it tasted weird.  Rather than take the gross pop away and ask me what I would like, she turned around and went back to the counter to bring me another Diet Pepsi.  Of course that one tasted the same way.  I then asked her for a water and she brought me that, but still left the two nasty pops on the table.  I had to ask her to take the other two pops away.  Seriously, did she think I wanted them after telling her they tasted weird?

As if that wasn’t enough, she brings our food and it looked like there was just half a scrambled egg white on his plate.  I would have been mortified, as a server, to give that to my customer.  Then when I cut his pancakes, they were raw in the center.  Raw, sticky dough.  I asked for the manager and she told me that she stepped out for a minute.  And here’s the kicker.  She said “would you like new pancakes or are those fine”?

I was about to lose it by this time.  I wanted to respond with “yea dumbass, I want to feed my child raw pancakes”.  Let me tell you, her tip was gone by this time.  In fact, on the tip line I wrote “get a new job”.  Stupid?  Maybe.  But maybe when her manager sees it, when she “steps back in”, she’ll take a long look at her dumbass employees.
