Yesterday my daughter had her very first Tae Kwon Do graduation where she was trying to graduate from the white belt to the orange belt. She was hilarious! She’s never done anything in front of such a large audience before (about 40 parents and 10 or so students) and she is by far the youngest kid in the class by about 2 years.
She did awesome! Here is a video of her breaking the boards. The blue and red board are the practice boards that fit together like a puzzle piece and you need a certain amount of force to break them apart. At the end, the teacher pulled out the real block of wood because he knew Bella and he knew that she would want to try it, even though that red board gives her trouble. Bella is the most determined child I know.
At the end of class, she was the first kid awarded their new belt. She loved going up and getting her new belt with the orange stripe and her certificate. She was all smiles. She is one tough little ninja!
As excited as she was about the block of wood breaking, I think she was more excited about getting her certificate:
Way to go my little Ninja!
