But I don’t get it.
I don’t get how these women can be OK with their “husband” having other wives. For all intense purposes, each of those women have a relationship with Cody like you and I have with our husband…in a marital sense. They have a ceremony uniting the two of them as one, they have children, etc. But the main difference is, they allow their husband to openly cheat on them with another woman. Worse yet, they allow their husband to marry other women, have babies with other women…it just doesn’t make sense to me.
Now I’m no psychologist, nor do I play one on t.v. but I would be willing to bet that any practicing psychologist would say that these women in polygamist relationships have very love self esteems. They probably feel like they aren’t good enough for their husband to love only them; to sleep with only them; to build a family with only them. That is incredibly sad to me.
Not to mention…they have daughters. Do they really want their daughters to grow up and be with a man who has multiple wives? Do they want her to feel like she is not woman enough for her husband? Because to me, that’s what Cody’s relationship with his wives on Sister Wives is all about. He married Meri first. It took them years to get pregnant with their daughter. What does Cody do once he realizes his first wife may be damaged goods? He goes out and marries 2 other women. No wonder Meri has said numerous times on the show that she has issues with jealousy. Sure she does. If I am not mistaken, one of his other wives has a daughter older than Meri’s.
The whole thing is just too weird to me…yet I can’t stop watching. It’s like that Duggar family. The show is pretty boring, but I just can’t help but watch it. That and I am sure Mrs. Duggar has one hell of a girdle that she wears just in case her uterus decides to just drop out of her body one of these days.
What do you think? Also, what if the tables were turned and we were allowed to have more than one husband.

I tend to agree with you. I have never seen the show nor do I plan to. Multiply wives is common in other countries but it is hard to imagine here in the US (not sure why). On a side note, I have 1 wife and 3 kids and can barley handle that, LOL. Let alone 3 wives and who know how many kids. Crazy.
