When I was younger, I went tanning, laid out in the sun with bronzing oil, and NEVER wore sunscreen. I always wanted to be tan. In fact, if it was homecoming or prom season, you could find me every other day (every day the week of) at the tanning salon baking under the lights. I knew how bad tanning salons were, but the need to be tan was stronger than the need to not do something that could cause skin cancer.

Stupid…I know.
Now that I’ve turned 30 and I’ve gone through two pregnancies…things are just not the way they used to be. My boobs will never be in the same place again, I will forever have my belly pooch…no matter how much weight I lose, and my skin is changing to. I’ve always had combination skin…leaning closer to oily rather than dry…but now…it just doesn’t seem as firm as it used to be. The way I see it…I have two options. Get Botox to firm up my skin or start looking into different skincare products to help me achieve the skin I’m wanting.
Needles to the face freak me out so I guess I’ll go with skincare products. But what products do I try? Since I’m not getting any younger, anti aging skincare products seems to be a no brainer. And then there’s the whole, do I buy them at department stores or can I buy good skincare products at Target? Department store make-up counters tend to make me nervous and sweat all over. I don’t know if it is the bright lights in that area or my lack of beauty care ability that gets me all hot and nervous. But I distinctly remember going to purchase make-up before my wedding and the lady behind the counter wanted to give me a makeover. I said sure! Only what I didn’t know was that she was going to only make over one side of my face…I had to do the other. Talk about mortifying. Not only did I look I let my 4 year old do one side of my face, but the lady said to me “well…rather than purchase all this make-up, you may want to consider paying someone to do your make-up on your wedding day”. Um…yea. Embarrassing!
What skincare products do you use? Where do you buy them? Have you ever use L’Occitane? I went through the skincare quiz on their site and I really want to try the Rice products….plus the quiz told me to…
