When it comes to buying kids clothes, I really can’t stand spending a ton of money. They go through the clothes like crazy, whether it be by outgrowing or simply wearing a hole through them (which my son does A LOT). My kids and I live in jeans. I’m always on the look out for quality jeans for both of them and myself. For my kids, the jeans MUST have an adjustable waist. My son is SUPER skinny and while he needs one size for length, he’s about 3 or 4 sizes smaller in waist. My daughter is the opposite. While she is pretty skinny herself, she is also really curvy. We won’t begin to discuss my issues when it comes to finding pants that fit!
Target is one of my first stops when it comes to getting my kids school clothes. You can’t beat the price and the quality is pretty good too. Well on July 19, 2011, Target brought a new brand to their customers; the dENiZEN brand from the Levi Strauss & Company. Now the Levi brand has been around since 1853, so that’s a brand to trust! And what I like, besides the amazing quality of Levi jeans, is that the clothes are made by an American company.
I was given the opportunity to try out a pair of dENiZEN jeans. I was told to choose from the following options:
Women’s: sizes 2-18, with fits that include Mid-Rise Boot Cut, Mid-Rise Straight, as well as the Totally Shaping Mid-Rise Boot Cut and Totally Shaping at Waist Boot Cut (the Totally Shaping features high stretch denim and a built in tummy control panel).
Men’s: sizes range from 29″-42″ and 30″-34″ L with fits that include 236 Regular, 299 Loose, 285 Relaxed, 281 Straight, 233 Low Boot, 218 Slim, 216 Skinny and 208 Super Skinny (I have to say, nothing against dENiZEN jeans, but I don’t get skinny and super skinny fits for men).
Girls: sizes 4-20, with fits that include Super Skinny, Skinny, and Slim Boot.
Boys: sizes 4-20, with fits that include 299 Loose, 281 Straight, 218 Slim Straight, 216 Skinny, and 208 Super Skinny.

Since my daughter has outgrown EVERY pair of pants she owns, I decided to try out a pair for her. I chose the Slim Boot. Immediately upon getting them, I noticed what great quality they are. They are a nice heavy denim, which I like because that means it will take longer for her to wear a hole in the knees! We tried them on and the size fit perfectly. She hasn’t been able to wear them yet…it’s been 80+ degrees here, but I did throw them in the washing machine to see how they held up. Not only did the color hold up, but they still felt brand new. I like that. There is nothing more annoying than buying a pair of jeans you think are nice and then you go and wash them and they feel like you’ve washed them a million times (and will probably come home with a hole in the knees).

I have 1 pair of the stretch Denizens skinny leg and I love them. I’ve never owned a pair of Levi’s but thought I’d try them and I’m glad I did. They are, hands down, my favorite jeans to wear. I have to go back to Target and buy more when they restock. Just about every store in my area have limited inventory : (
