Well…it’s Wednesday, September 28th and I am halfway through my 4th day of working outside my home (I’m on my lunch break…just so you know!).
Venturing into this uncharted territory has been rather scary. Scary in the sense that since the day my children were born, I stayed at home with them. I was the one dropping them off at school and picking them up. I was the one working in their classroom. And now I am not that person anymore. Which I know is good for my husband to experience this with the kids, but at the same time…it’s scary for me.
But I have to say, I’m loving my job. I like being around adults. I like dressing nice…though I do miss my yoga pants that I used to wear daily! And you know what, my kids are loving that their dad is the one taking them to school and Bella is beside herself that he is volunteering in her class for her Halloween party AND on her birthday!
I’m lucky that I got a job with the company that I did. They are very flexible and my schedule is such that on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I have the ability to volunteer in my kids classrooms because I don’t start until 12pm! I can’t say I’ll be working in their classrooms every Tuesday and Thursday, but at least that option is open to me!
So right now things are great…but check back with me when my husband gets a job and we are both working outside the home. That should be interesting, but I know we can make it work!
