This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Family Insurance for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I think about what life was like when I was growing up, it is nothing like the way things are now. We could stay outside all day long until the street lights came on. You can’t do that nowadays. Shoot, you can’t leave your kids outside by themselves anymore.
Bill Bellamy does a funny stand up skit about staying out until the street lights come at Stand Up For Family. His other skits about being seen and not heard. That wasn’t an issue when I was a kid, though I do remember my dad telling my brother and I about when he was little, it was expected that children only spoke when they were spoken to. Thank goodness I didn’t live then…I would not have survived!
My other favorite AmFam which is put by American Family Insurance is the video by Donnell Rawlings called Rock Music. This video particularly hit home because I remember when I was younger and parents were horrified about the thought of their child listening to rap. But what Donnell tells us (and shows us!) is that rock music sometimes sends a much worse message. Me, personally, I think any kind of music could have the potential to go totally the opposite way we thought it would. And we surely can’t judge the music based on it’s genre.
Be sure to check out the video’s I posted above and any others you see on the Stand Up For Family page. They are really funny! Let me know what your favorite video is!
