I’ve written before about my son having ADHD. We’ve taken him off his medication and things have gone really well. One thing that really helps is making sure that we really watch what he eats. And of course, with a headstrong seven year old, that’s not always easy! One thing we really try to eliminate as much as possible is how much artificial coloring he gets. That is no easy task. Especially when there are times where we need to grab a quick easy snack on the run.
One thing my kids really like are fruit flavored snacks. Personally, I hate buying them. They are loaded with sugar and dyes. Two things a child with ADHD definitely doesn’t need. But the nice thing about the new Ocean Spray Fruit Flavored Snacks is that not only are they only 80 calories per serving, but they only contain natural colors! Definite win-win for me! And even better…they aren’t super gummy…they’re more like fruit snacks from when I was a kid! And trust me…I’m a gummy snob! I only like certain types of gummy candy and these are delicious!
Besides being artificial coloring free, the new Ocean Spray Fruit Flavored Snacks also contain 100% of the daily value of Vitamin C! With stats like that, how can you not give them to your kids? Now obviously these fruit snacks are not meant to replace actual fruit in the diet, but as an occasional snack I would rather my kids eat them instead of candy! One thing I like to do when my family and I are out running errands is make sure I have plenty of snacks in my purse in case my kids get hungry or I need to bribe them (hey now, don’t judge…we’ve all been there). These fruit snacks are perfect to throw in my purse for a day out and about!
