We moved into our house 13 years ago.  13 years ago my husband was taking a shower in the kids bathroom (we had grand plans of remodeling the master bath) when all of a sudden the soap dish fell off the wall to reveal a rotted mess on the other side.  So needless to say, our master bathroom got put on hold.  The kids bathroom has been completed for a few years now!  With all the traveling my husband does with his job, it makes these DIY bathroom remodeling projects take a little longer than most.  Now that the kids bathroom is finished, we can finally focus on our bathroom and begin planning it out.  Of course I went to Pinterest to get my inspiration!

DIY Bathroom Remodeling
Heat Sensitive Tiles
You read that right…heat sensitive tiles! I have yet to find anything like that in the store, but think about it. How awesome would it be to take a shower and have the tiles around you changing color, kind of like the Northern Lights (or those hyper color t-shirts)?!? A much cheaper option is this color changing shower head. I’m ordering mine today!

Spice Rack Shelves
Do you have a lot of hair products and lotions in your bathroom? My husband is convinced I’m addicted to hair products, and I kind of am. I always want to try new stuff. We don’t have a lot of cabinet space in our bathroom, so attaching spice racks on the wall to hold the products is genius! The spice racks width are perfect for holding the various bottles and tubes!

 2nd Floor Laundry
This is my favorite thing I found and probably the most doable bathroom remodeling idea I’ve found! Â Currently our laundry room is in the basement (which I hate) so one of the things I want to do in our bathroom is make a laundry area. Â Our bathroom is rather large and a lot of the space is wasted space, so what better way to take up the space, and keep me out of the basement, than to move the laundry room into the bathroom?!? Â And how cool would it be to have access to the closet like that??? As I was searching Pinterest, I found this great way to store the dirty clothes in the closet, but access them in the bathroom/laundry room area! If you like this idea as much as I do, be sure to pick up this 5-pack of knobs from Amazon. They are on sale and a really good price!
Have you remodeled your bathroom recently? What are some of the things you did in there? Did you go with really large, oversized tiles, or smaller tiles? I’d love to hear some of your bathroom remodeling tips! Check out our most recently DIY project with our wood wall in our family room.
