On a mountain with a huge porch so I can sit and look at the beautiful view!
I had just that this past weekend when I visited Pigeon Forge, Tn. Now if you haven’t been to Pigeon Forge before, the first thing you will notice upon arriving is that they are a true tourist location full of hotels and motels to accommodate anyone and everyone. However, staying in a log cabin when visiting the Smokey Mountains is an absolute MUST! Waking up each day and seeing the breathtaking view is something I will never forget!
Myself along with 33 other bloggers, stayed in a beautiful log cabin for Brandcation: Blog Cabin courtesy of Cabin Fever Vacations. Our beautiful Mountain Top lodge was amazing. This three floor cabin comfortably slept 34 women. Each bedroom had a king size bed and a full bathroom (two bedrooms on the top floor, two on the main floor and four on bottom floor). But that’s not all the cabin offered!! The top floor had three queen size bunk beds, a futon and a full bathroom; the main floor also had a common area, full kitchen (with two fridges) and dining areas; and the bottom level had a common area, pool table, arcade game, air hockey, bathrooms and laundry room. Each level had a beautiful deck overlooking the Smokey Mountains. One level even had a hot tub!
Isn’t that view absolutely beautiful? I woke up every morning and put on my make-up on the deck overlooking the mountains. I enjoyed the cool mountain air and the quiet time!
Our cabin was VERY clean, bathrooms were stocked with towels and toilet paper and extra sheets and blankets were in the closet. One thing I will note after staying with this many people, you can hear everything through the walls! While I didn’t expect it to be silent…we did have 34 women in one spot, after all…the people below each floor could hear everything above them. I slept in a bunk bed outside one of the bedrooms and I could hear everything going on inside that room. So with that said, I probably wouldn’t book the max a cabin says it can hold. While they can definitely accommodate the amount of people, you may want to have a few less. For example, I want to take my family back to Pigeon Forge in 2013 and there will be 6-8 of us (and one baby)…I’m looking at cabins that sleep 10.
The Cabin Fever Vacations website is a wealth of information. They have cabins for all different size groups (one bedroom studios all the way up to cabins the size we stayed in). You can also pick a package that fits your needs! Whether you are getting married, on your honeymoon, want a spa vacation or a package full of different attractions in the Pigeon Forge area, Cabin Fever Vacations can help you out! My personal favorite is the “Create Your Own” package. Simply choose from a list of things to do and give Cabin Fever Vacations a call (at 866-34-CABIN).
Here are a few of my favorite things about Cabin Fever Vacations:
- Prices are VERY reasonable (vary depending upon the time of season you go)
- Cabins are well maintained and clean
- They have full kitchens, allowing you to bring your own food…saving you money from eating out all the time (though you HAVE to eat at one of the many pancake/waffle houses)
- The view is spectacular
