I feel like I’m drowning in my own house with all the stuff we have laying around. The kids bring home a ream of paper a week…seriously. Â I had to tell my daughter to stop stapling scrap paper together and bringing it home. There were days she would bring home two or three “books”. And then my son brings home little pieces of paper bunched up that he calls his “origami”. Â It’s too much! I need to declutter my home and I need to do it now!

How to Declutter Your Home
The one thing we have loads and loads of are CDs, DVDs and even VHS tapes (do people even use those anymore?). Â Our collection looks something like this:
We both have iphones now, so holding on to all of our CDs is kind of pointless. Â Rather than dump them in the trash, we can try selling them with Music Magpie! Â Now I’ve told you before how I like to sell clothes back to our local consignment shop. Â With Music Magpie I can sell DVDs, CDs, video games and blu-rays!
How it works
- Either enter the barcode from the item you want to sell on the website or download the iPhone or Android app and scan the barcode
- Send your items for FREE using their free shipping label services
- Get paid!
You must enter a minimum of 10 items up to a maximum of 500 items per order. Â Have more than 500 items? Â No big deal! Â Create as many orders as you want!
I may hate cleaning, but I do love to declutter and when I know I can earn some money selling the stuff I want to get rid of…I’m in! Â Now if I could only talk my husband and kids into selling the millions of CDs, DVDs and video games that we no longer watch or play.
Now if someone can tell me what to do with the mountain of VHS tapes I have in my basement…that would be good! Â I’d hate to throw them away, but I don’t know anyone that even has a VCR anymore!

Have you heard of freecycle? You don’t get money but you could put your VHS there. People who want it will come get it. It’s out of your house and with someone who wants it. I think goodwill takes them too.

I used Freecycle years ago…I’ll have to check it out again. Thanks for the reminder!
