Do you ever feel like you’re drowning? Â Like, no matter what you do, it’s not good enough or you don’t have enough time to accomplish it all? That’s how I’ve been feeling lately. Â My house is a cluttered mess, yet the more I get rid of, the more cluttered it seems. Â I have renovation projects that have been started, yet there is never any time to finish them. Â The kids are busy with school and sports, so I’m always running them from one place to another. Â And to top that all off, my husband travels A LOT for his job. Â So needless to say, I feel a lot of pressure on my shoulders to keep it all together and I fear I’m failing miserably. I need a serious, how to organize my life, moment.

What to do, What to do?
Yesterday, after staring at a wall for about an hour (literally), I realized I needed to take charge of my life. Â Sure, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t miserable…because I am. Â Who likes to feel this crazed and alone? Â There are so many aspects of my life that I am not happy with. Â I mentioned a few with my house and not having enough time, but I am also unhappy with how I look and feel. I spoke to a friend about a week ago about this and she gave me some good advice…“start scheduling things out”. Â So that’s exactly what I am going to do. Â Schedule my life. Â But in scheduling my life better, I am going to start scheduling some me time in there also. Â Not everything has to be about the house, my kids, my husband or even this blog.
About a month or two ago I lost my blogging planner. Â Now if you read my post on that planner, you would know how much I love that little planner (though I recommend getting the larger one. Â I hate writing small). Â I have no idea what I did with it. Â It’s no where in my house, so I must have set it down somewhere when I took it with me someplace. Â At any rate, I’m lost without it. How to Organize Your Life Better
Anyway, yesterday I decided to get my life in order. Â To do that I needed a planner. Â Sure I could use the calendar app on my phone, but I needed something a little more than that. Â I also needed it now. Â So I ran to Office Depot to see what they in their planner department. Â All they had were a bunch of planners that started in July 2013 and ran until August of 2014. Â That wouldn’t work. Â Feeling a tad discouraged, I went to Target for a little retail therapy. Â As I was walking down their aisle with planners I saw one that jumped out at me. Â Not only did they have one that was undated, but it also has a menu planning section, and the calendar section was broken up into “Mine” and “Theirs” sections.
While I like this and will use this, I still recommend the blogging planner and fully plan to purchase a new one once I have a little more cash in my Paypal account.
So what did I do first? Â I flipped to the calendar section and wrote in all of the kids appointments, practice schedules and games for this week. Â Next I wrote “gym” as the first thing for me to do each day. Â No matter what else I have going on each day, the gym is something I will be making time for. Â Finally, I wrote down the blog posts I needed to do for this week.
The menu planning section was a little more difficult for me. Â I’ve been a really bad parent when it comes to making dinner. Â I’ve fallen off my weight loss wagon and pretty much stopped cooking good, wholesome meals. Â Well no more! Â I may hate the fact that I am cooking for just me and the kids (I like family, sit down all together type meals), but this is our reality and I just have to go with it. Â So I scheduled out our meals for the rest of this week and I took the meat that I need out of the freezer so it will be thawed and ready to go!
It’s a start. Â I’m hoping that in a month I will feel less like I’m drowning and more in charge of my life. Â I’m also hoping to get my blogging planner back!

I know how you feel! I have to have my planner everywhere with me and when I don’t have it, I feel lost.

I struggle with life running me over too. I try to schedule as much as possible and have slowly cut out the stuff we don’t “have” to do. It has helped a lot.

I find in the warm weather I am more okay with clutter – maybe because Im outside more.
I always use google docs as my planner only because I lose things.

Organization does not come easy to me. I do have the large Blogging Planner (and LOVE it) and it has helped tremendously. I’m really trying to do better with meal plans. I’ve not even shopped this week because I can’t decide what to make- and it’s Wednesday!
