“Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take ya”…
I grew up with that song and every since I heard it, I wanted to go to Aruba. I thought for SURE I was going my senior year in high school for Spring Break, but my parents weren’t to keen on the whole “teenager going to an island without adult supervision”. Boo!
But guess what?!? I’m an adult now and my husband and I are WAY overdue for an amazing trip…just the two of us. I’ve said for years now that I want to renew our wedding vows. The first time around we got married in a church…this time around, I want to get married on the beach!
Aruba truly has something for everyone.
Culinary Scene
One of my favorite things to do when I visit a new place is try the food. The main strip has 100 different restaurants to try out. They have an eclectic variety of food to choose from; Argentinean, Middle Eastern, Indian, Spanish, and Caribbean, to name a few!
Activities
Now I’m not one to go scuba diving, but if that is something you like to do, they have reef and wreck dives available. Snorkeling…that’s more my speed and they have beautiful shallow reefs to explore! Another thing I was excited to see was horseback riding on the beach! I’ve never done that, but it just seems like a very peaceful thing to do!! And of course, golf. Since this is Dan’s vacation too, I suppose I could go golfing with him!
Nightlife
I admit, Dan and I don’t get out much, but being that we wouldn’t have any kids with us, Aruba offers a lot of fun activities for couples:
- Romantic Sunset Sail cruises
- Cocktail parties
- Las Vegas style shows at resorts
- Casinos
