My husband usually freaks out around gift giving time because I know he wants to give the perfect gift, but then he freezes and cannot think of one thing to get. This year I made it especially tough on him (not on purpose) because I told him I didn’t want anything for Christmas. I just wasn’t all that into the Christmas spirit and I really don’t want anything. Well I take that back…I want a desktop computer for my office, but that was not in the budget!
Despite me not telling him a thing, he did really well! My favorite thing he got me was my Origami Owl necklace. I had told him I wanted one for quite awhile and it just so happens that a friend of ours sells Origami Owl necklaces! Win-win!
What are Origami Owl Necklaces?
Oh my goodness…I know the second you see these, you are going to want one! Basically, an Origami necklace is a locket filled with charms that are meaningful to you! Here, take a look at mine:
Isn’t it neat?!? I chose the following charms:
- Mom – because I’m a mom
- Computer – because I work online
- Cat – because I love my kitty, Roxie
- Infinity sign – to symbolize my relationship with my husband
- February, June and October birthstones – My husband and I are February, Zachary is June and Bells is October
- Karma charm – because I believe in the saying “what goes around, comes around”
There are several different types of lockets and necklaces to choose from and a TON of different charms!! You can also add little tags like the “beautiful” one I have. My husband picked that out because that is what he has called me from the moment we’ve met.
Where can you order?
We ordered mine from our friend Diana Alexander. You can visit her website at www.DianaAlexander.origamiowl.com and from there you can contact Diana with any questions you have or just place and order and have it shipped right too you!! It really is that easy!
Ideas for Necklaces
I love the necklace shown above, but I have a few more ideas of necklaces I would like to have. My kids play sports so I would love to have a necklace that showcases my support for them. I would put a charm for each of the sports they play in there. I would add a few accent stones to represent their team colors.
The possibilities are endless. And the nice thing is, you don’t have to buy a necklace every time you make a new locket. Just swap out the lockets on the same chain!! That’s what I plan on doing!
So take a look at Diana’s site and tell me what you would want in your locket!
