I love that my kids like to read so much. Zachary’s Christmas list, once we took off the T.V., X-box and laptop, was filled with different books that he wanted. Now that Bella is reading, all she asks for are books…this makes me very happy! Not everyone can afford new books and that’s why the Michigan Friends of Education is offering their FREE book program to all students in Michigan!! This program is for students that are struggling to read or cannot afford to buy new books. How wonderful is that?!?
About Michigan Friends of Education
“We worked closely with a variety of publishers and booksellers to make this program available to Michigan families,” said Menachem Kniespeck, President & CEO of MFE. “The response from families has been overwhelmingly positive. Our volunteers are working extra shifts to quickly get books into the hands of thousands of kids.”
How to get the books
The books are free and families can choose up to 14 books per order! While the books themselves are free, families are responsible for shipping charges and a small handling fee of $2. Visit MFEFamily.org.
Who is eligible?
Anyone that resides in Michigan is eligible! There are no income qualifications. MFEfamily.org would like to encourage families with struggling with finances or with struggling readers to visit the site!
What kinds of books are available?
There are books for everyone available! You can find chapter books, leveled readers, study aids and activity books at all grade levels! The book inventory changes regularly as new books become available.
