Recycling is of those things I told myself I was going to do better at in 2014. My kids are totally on board and often try and shame me when they see me throw something in the trash that shouldn’t be there. I think part of the reason why I don’t do better, and yes…I realize this is an excuse…is because my city has the most ridiculous recycling plan ever. They give (or maybe you have to purchase, I don’t remember now) an open top recycling bin to throw all of your recyclables in. Then, on your designated trash day, you drag this to the curb and put it on the opposite side of your driveway from where you put your trash cans. Sounds easy, right? It is, until we have a crazy windy day and then there are milk cartons, pizza boxes, etc flying all over the neighborhood. That drives me crazy and that makes me not want to drag the bin to the curb. But I know I have to.

Earth day is coming up on April 22nd and we all know what we can do to do our part. But I have a question for you…do you recycle in the bathroom? There are so many products in our bathroom that we use on a daily basis that can be recycled. Especially those from Healthy Essentials®. Another thing you can do, something I do in all of my bathrooms, is take the plastic grocery bags and put those in the garbage cans. When it comes time to empty them, I just empty the contents in the bag into a larger garbage bag and reuse the plastic grocery bag. Well…reuse it until it gets gross from one of the kids putting soap, water or worse into it.
