I truly believe that it is the choices we make in life that define us. I mean, we’ve all had to make choices that were hard, but if every choice were easy…what kind of life would that be? There would be no learning and growing. Life lessons are important. Learning from those life lessons is even more important.

Not too long ago, my husband and I had to make a choice for our son. Do we keep him on ADHD medication, but switch him to a non-stimulant medication or do we take a giant leap of faith and give essential oils a try? Quite honestly, I was very skeptical and I don’t like change that much so it was scary. Would he do well in school? Would he be hyper and have his friends parents judge him on something he can’t totally control? It was all very scary, but I knew we had to try.
So I jumped in 100% and gave it a try…and guess what? It has proven to be a good thing that we did give this a try. Does it keep him calm and quiet all the time? Of course not, but he’s also a 10 year old boy…I don’t know any 10 year old boys that are calm and quiet all the time. Do you?
This has really showed me (and I think my husband too, who was VERY skeptical),that sometimes you have to take that leap of faith and trust in the unknown. This is something we are trying to teach our kids. It drives us crazy to hear them shoot something down before they’ve even give it a try.
