After we had our son, it was VERY apparent that we needed to find a bigger house. Our, barely 1000 square foot home, was bursting at the seams with all the things that come with having a baby. His swing alone took up the majority of the our living room! But man, was house hunting a pain! And it was quickly decided that wherever we ended up, we needed a home warranty.
We had our price range and we knew what city we wanted to live in. Both of us are from the same area so having our children go through the school system we went through, just made a lot of sense; especially since it is one of the top districts in the state.
Home Warranty
When we found our house, we knew it was the one for us; however it needed a TON of updates. Some we did then, and some we are still trying to complete. We’ve lived in the house for a little over 10 years and we have the original furnace, air conditioner, and hot water heater. Our house was built in 1979. If those things all went out at the same time…I don’t even want to think about it.

Thankfully, with companies like TotalProtect Home Warranty, we can, for a relatively inexpensive monthly fee, have the peace of mind in knowing that the major things in our home are covered. I priced out a new furnace last year and I couldn’t believe how much they are. I mean, look at the average costs:
Did you know…
- There’s a 68% chance that one of your crucial appliances and home systems will fail in any year.
- Plumbing systems and air conditioners are the most commonly repaired items.
- Washer, water heater, and refrigerator are the most commonly replaced items.
