This year my family and I will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day at my mother in-laws house. Thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite holidays. I love reading everyone’s “30 days of Thanks” posts on Facebook, but most of all I love having family dinner. Shoot, who am I kidding, I love all the Thanksgiving type foods, especially the desserts! I’m really hoping we have banana cream pie this year. I love love LOVE banana cream pie!
When we have Thanksgiving at my mother in-laws house, she always has some sort of craft for all of the kids to do. One of the teenage cousins usually takes the kids downstairs to the basement to do the craft. It’s fun for the kids and it’s nice for the adults to enjoy some time talking without being interrupted! Two years ago the kids made ornaments. This year my mother in-law picked up duct tape. She knew that my kids were really into making duct tape crafts so she went with that.
One craft they will be making is duct tape flowers. My kids made a bouquet of duct tape flowers for my dad when he was in the hospital this past summer.
They are super simple to make. Rather than type out the step by step directions, I think it would be best if you watched this how to video. It’s the video I watched to learn how to make the flowers.
My friend Trisha at Momdot.com has some pretty amazing crafts going on over at her house almost daily! One in particular that I liked is her Thankful Tree pictured below.
Please head on over to her site and check out this Thankful Tree project and all the great gift ideas she has for this Thankful Tree! Also check back next week because Trisha will be posting a lot more Thanksgiving themed craft ideas!
