Often times I am making dinner for the kids quickly so we can get to their after school activity and then I make dinner for myself later. My dinners typically consist of grilled chicken, baked sweet potato and veggies, if I have some leftover. <–that is something I want to change. I want to ALWAYS have veggies available…for me AND the kids, even if they fight me on eating them! This steamer will help me tremendously.

Microwave Steamer
For Christmas, my mother in-law got me a Microwave Steamer for Veggies and Fish. Getting this steamer was exciting! I don’t have a lot of spare time, so anything to make things easier is a plus. Especially since it had a picture of asparagus (one of my favorite veggies) on it!
How Easy is it to use?
It’s been a little over a month since Christmas and I still had not tried out the microwave veggie steamer. Tonight I did! I was making meat loaf for the kids and I, and I thought steamed veggies would go great! Using the microwave steamer is sooooo easy. Simply add 2 TBS of water in the bottom tray, lay your veggies out, and steam them in the microwave for about 6 minutes!
How Did it Do?
Once the 6 minutes were up, I sprinkled on a little bit of garlic pepper and enjoyed my steamed veggies! No butter or oil was needed AT ALL! I absolutely love steamed veggies, and I almost always order them when I’m at a restaurant, but I hate when they are drowning in butter. This microwave steamer made the perfect veggies. And it was quick too!
Do you have kids that scream if you try to get them to eat a vegetable? Get this microwave steamer…I’m telling you…they will want to try the veggies because it is something they can do!
If you’re interested, I also used this mini loaf pan for the meatloaf! I put gloves on Bella and she helped form the little meatloaves! She enjoyed that…and ate the meatloaf!! Get the kids involved in the cooking and they will be more willing to try things!
