I’m going to admit something right now…I love Christmas music. I don’t mind when radio stations start playing it right on November 1st. I even don’t mind that Little Drummer Boy song that seems to be playing in departments stores on repeat. In fact, when I hear that Feliz Navidad song, it makes me want to dance on the escalator. Not even joking. I like it all. So when I was asked to review The Brian Setzer Orchestra Rockin’ Rudolph CD, I said “heck ya…sign me up”!
*I received the following CD for the purpose of this post. All opinions are 100% my own*
First of all, I know I said I love Christmas music, but let me tell you, if you don’t own The Brian Setzer Orchestra Rockin’ Rudolph CD, you need to. It is probably the best Christmas CD I’ve heard. It’s upbeat, gets you singing along and just puts you in a great mood! The songs you can find on this CD are:
- Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree
- Yabba-Dabba Yuletide <–personal favorite!
- Most Wonderful Time of the Year
- Rockabilly Rudolph
- Here Comes Santa Clause
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
- Swingin’ Joy
- Carol of the Bells
- Little Jack Frost
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
- O Little Town of Bethlehem
- Yabba-Dabba Yuletide (extended)
Doesn’t that look like a great line up of songs? In my 34 years of life, I have never ever heard the Yabba-Dabba Yuletide. I love it! If your kids love the Flintstones (is that still on TV?), then they will for sure love this song too! I’m tell you, get this CD!

Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award throughout his decorated career as founder/leader of the Stray Cats, his 18-piece Brain Setzer Orchestra, and as a solo artist. He is consistently cited as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists, and has a best-selling extensive line of Gretsch signature model guitars, and has a best-selling extensive line of elite Gretsch signature model guitars bearing his name. Brian appeared in the 1987 film, La Bamba, portraying rockabilly pioneer Eddie Cochran. In 2002, Brian earned the privilege of being of the few musicians to be animated in an episode of “The Simpsons,” alongside Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Tom Petty. That same year, Setzer personally requested to induct Chet Atkins into the 17th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2014, Setzer received the distinct honor of being asked to donate a replica of his original 1959 Gretsch 6120 “Stray Cat” guitar, joining an elite collection of musical instruments at the museum including Dizzy Gillespie’s trumpet and John Coltrane’s saxophone.
