I have been Keto for the last four or five years. Very rarely do I actually crave something or miss something (like candy) that I choose not to eat anymore. However, one thing I do miss is bread. Sandwiches are just so good! Am I right?! I can’t buy the low carb breads that claim to be Keto at the stores because they either have wheat in it (I’m allergic) or the ingredients are totally not Keto friendly. Chaffles are good, but I don’t always want all that fat and sometimes cheese bothers my stomach. However, this recipe for Keto bread not only smells just like bread when it’s baking, but it tastes amazing!

Does that not look like the best loaf of homemade bread ever? I mean, come on! When I was making my own bread with flour, it never came out look this good. And to think that this recipe has absolutely ZERO flour in it. In fact, there is only ONE carb per serving. How is that even possible?!? Well, let me tell you, it is absolutely possible. If you are following the Keto diet, you will want to make this Keto bread recipe!
What Is Keto Bread?
When I tell you what is in this recipe, you will probably think one of two things (or both). First, that it doesn’t taste good; and secondly, that it must taste eggy. In this recipe you literally have five ingredients.
- Egg Whites
- Cream of Tartar
- Salt
- Allulose
- Unflavored Egg White Protein Powder
So which one of the above things are you thinking? Now, if you are familiar with the Keto diet (or have a child on TikTok), you are probably familiar with cloud bread. This is NOT cloud bread. When I made cloud bread, it tasted and smelled way too eggy to me and kind of made me gag. This recipe smells like bread when it’s baking and it tastes like bread.

Tips for Making the Bread
The first time I made this bread, it didn’t turn out…at all. I accidentally bought unflavored whey powder. Instead of looking like a loaf of bread, it shriveled up and was just plain weird. So it is imperative that you use unflavored egg white protein powder. I linked the one I bought above. I really like that one. Another popular brand is Jay Robb. I can never seem to go on Amazon when that one is in stock! The second time I attempted to make this bread, I used real eggs and separated the yolks. This bread turned out perfectly, but you must make sure that you get ZERO egg yolks in there. The eggs will not whip up the way they are supposed to. Today, when I made the bread, I used boxed egg whites. However, with that said, you have to make sure that it does not say “will not whip” on the back. The brand I used was the Bob Evans brand. It turned out amazing.
This slice of toast was heavenly. I can’t tell you how happy it made me feel to toast this bread and enjoy it for breakfast after I got back from the gym! So good!

I took a break from Keto right before the pandemic. Since I was recovering from knee surgery, I thought it would be a good idea. Spoiler alert, it wasn’t. When I decided to go back to Keto, I came across a few Keto accounts on Instagram and from there I found Maria Emmerich. I now follow Maria and her husband Craig and make a lot of their recipes. This Keto bread recipe is one of theirs. You can find the recipe for this Keto bread right here! If you make this, please let me know what you think! I literally cannot wait to get home from the gym tomorrow and make more toast. Or maybe even a BLT!
