I’m back to following strict Keto and I am loving it. I cannot deny how much better I feel when I am strict on the Keto diet. Add in intermittent fasting, and I feel like a million bucks! When I am strict on Keto, I tend to eat the same things over and over again. While it does’t typically bother me, I do like to introduce new foods into my daily routine. When I read about the chaffle, I knew I had to try it. Tonight I made a spicy chaffle pizza and it was amazing!

What is a “Keto Chaffle Pizza”?

You may be sitting there thinking, “what in the world is a chaffle pizza?” and believe me, I was right there with you a few weeks ago. As it turns out, a chaffle is cheese waffle, only it doesn’t have flour in it. Say what? No wonder this is so Keto friendly! I did Keto religiously for three years and had never heard of this thing. Now that I have, it’s all I want to eat!

Spicy Keto Chaffle Pizza

Delicious recipe for a chaffle pizza, perfect for those following a low carb or Keto diet.

Ingredients

Chaffle Pizza "Dough"

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Garlic Powder to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes to taste

Chaffle Pizza Toppings

  • 1 1/2 TBSP Rao's Pizza Sauce (2 tsp per chaffle)
  • 6 slices Pepperoni
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese to taste

Instructions

  1. Plug in your waffle iron and spray with cooking spray if your machine requires it.

  2. Beat your egg slightly. Add the shredded cheese and seasonings and mix it up.

  3. Sprinkle a little bit of cheese on the waffle iron. If you are using the mini Dash waffle iron, place half of your chaffle "dough" mixture in the waffle iron and close the lid.

  4. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until your desired crispiness has been reached.

  5. Remove the chaffle and put the remaining chaffle "dough" mixture on the waffle iron and cook again.

  6. When both chaffles are cooked, place on your pizza baking dish and top with the Rao's Pizza Sauce and desired toppings. Broil on low for about 5-6 minutes. Be sure to watch this part carefully so you don't burn your Spicy Keto Chaffle Pizza.

How Does it Taste?

You guys…these are amazing! The mozzarella cheese I bought has 2 carbs per serving. I do know there is a shredded cheese that is only 1 carb per serving. Using My Fitness Pal, the following is the nutritional info for 1 serving of this Spicy Keto Chaffle Pizza:

Calories – 316

Total Fat – 20 g

Total Carbs – 5.9 g

Protein – 28.5 g

Now, with that said, you will want to build this recipe in your favorite tracking app with the specific ingredients you purchase! I do that with every single recipe I find online that I make.

Doesn’t this sound so good?!? Whenever I make it, I literally am so full all day long. It’s such delicious treat. I love pizza…it’s one of the things I actually miss when I am following strict Keto. With the Spicy Keto Chaffle Pizza, I get to feel like I’m splurging, when in reality I’m really not! It’s 100% within my macros and Keto/low carb friendly!
