Our, almost eight month old puppy, loves to stick her entire face in her water bowl. Yes, at first, it was hysterical. However, after months of her doing this and getting our entire first floor soaking wet, we started to look for other options. After reading numerous reviews online, I finally decided to get the Slopper Stopper dog bowl. We’ve used the bowl for over three weeks now and I feel I need to tell you all about our experience.

About the Slopper Stopper Bowl
The Slopper Stopper dog water bowl is a genius product. If you look at the image about, you will see the little hole in the center. That is where your dog will get their water from. It may seem nearly impossible when you first look at it, and they do let you know that there may be a learning curve for some dogs. However, the first day we set the bowl down, also happened to be the day Indie got spayed. I thought for sure she would have trouble and we would need to put both bowls down for her. Nope! She figured it out right away and hasn’t had a problem at all!
Is It Worth the Money?
Honestly? Yes! I was a little hesitant to purchase it. With the $40 price tag, I almost said no. However, I was so tired of cleaning up water, not to mention, Indie’s chin is always soaking wet. The Slopper Stopper bowl literally 100% eliminated the water mess all over the floor! That, in and of itself, makes it worth it. One thing I would recommend is to purchase the Dog Bowl Stand for the bowl. If you do purchase it, make sure you are getting the right one for the size bowl you are purchasing!

What About A Growing Puppy?
I was concerned about getting the appropriate size bowl for my puppy now and running the risk of her outgrowing it. I didn’t want to have to purchase a whole new bowl. And guess what, Slopper Stopper thought of that! All of the bowls are the same size, but the hole in the lid is what changes for each breed size. I wish I would have known about this bowl much sooner! Also, if you need to purchase replacement parts, like the rubber gasket, the pressure plug, or the valve, you can do so on their website.
Other Puppy Must Haves
Over the last several months, we have really figured out what is best to have and what is not needed. Since our puppy is super attached to us (thank you Covid), we now have a crate on the first floor and a crate next to my bed. May seem excessive, but with bad knees, I don’t really want to climb the stairs every time I leave the house, and Miss Indie decided one night that she didn’t want to sleep downstairs by herself. So…win win for all, I suppose! Being that she’s a Goldendoodle, brushing is a must. I will link the brushes and detangling spray we like. After trying a few, I really recommend these.
