Today’s My Birthday!!

I love my birthday!  It’s even more special now that I have kids because they get so excited about going to buy presents, trying to keep those presents a secret and picking out a cake…which they did awesome by picking out my favorite (white cake with sugar frosting)!

This morning Bella came running into my room while I was getting ready for work very excited for me to see what she slept in…her Dora birthday nightgown!  She stood in front of me, smiling from ear to ear hoping I would notice the connection between her nightgown and what day it was!  As soon as I made a comment she jumped in my arms and asked me if I liked it…super cute start to my day!

For weeks I have been reminding my husband that I really wanted a Babycakes Cake Pop Maker.  Yes I realize I am a little late on the whole cake pop craze, but how can I not want one of these machines?  Look at what I want to make with it for one of the kids birthdays at school:

I’m getting ahead of myself.  My day started by getting ready for work.  I have to admit, I was a tad irritated that I had to work…I’m sure I could have asked for the day off and probably be granted it, but I really couldn’t do that since we could use my hours right now.  But the second I walked down the hall to my cubical, I knew it was the right decision to have not called off.  My department really knocked themselves out to celebrate my birthday at work and make me feel special.  Check out my cubical:

Between the awesome decorations, the lovely card signed by everyone at work, cupcakes and a 6 pack of Mike’s Strawberry Lemonade (which I brought home and did NOT drink at work!), it really was the best day ever!
