Say it with me, "I love my kids"

“I love my kids. I love my kids”.

I do. I really do, but right now I am wishing I could wiggle my nose and freeze them for a second (or a couple hours) so I could get some stuff done. Zack has spring break this week and I am going to go insane. So far today I have a couch that is ruined and is on its way to the curb. Why is it ruined? Well my lovely children, whom I love dearly, stuffed a sippy cup of milk (yes you can groan right about now) under the cushion. You guessed it…the leak proof cups are not so leak proof. I’m actually thinking about contacting Playtex on that one (just kidding).

One of the kids pushed the cushion off the couch and when I went in the room I about fell over from the smell. It was horrible. I never smelled it before but I am usually stuffed up in the morning and I vacuum which has this pet stuff in it to, supposedly help pick up the hair that also has a nice scent so I really haven’t smelled it too much. Or if I have, I’ve not recognized the scent, until that huge cusion came off the couch. And then it was like someone lit off one of those rotten egg stink bombs in my family room. Blech.

And lucky for me, the milk didn’t just soak into the cushion, which I would have been able to clean. Oh no. My children spilled it so good that it soaked into the wood frame of the couch and is there for all eternity. Lucky me right? So now I have this huge naked spot in my family room that I am not about to fill up. The kids can have fun with the extra room because I am not putting any other furniture there to get ruined.

Oh and as for the sippy cups. They’re gone. No more sippy cups in this house. If they are thirsty, they can drink out of a cup at the kitchen table. No more running off with a sippy cup and stashing it somewhere. This mom is done gassing herself when she finds a sippy cup that was in the toy box or behind the tv cabinet.

You know after a day like that do you ever wonder why moms don’t get a “spring break”…these teachers are the friggin lucky ones.
