Diaries of a Domestic Goddess

So if You Haven’t Heard Yet…

I, yet again, dislocated my left kneecap. I should NEVER have joked around about it yesterday. I spent a few hours at the ER, left with a HUGE knee brace that kept my knee completely straight, and was told to rest it which was a joke. How am I to rest it with two kids and a dog???

At any rate, I got in with Medsport at U of M this evening (huge surprise…usually you have to wait a while but since I was at the ER I got bumped up). The doctor I saw was nice. She put me in a different brace that immobilizes just my kneecap and not my entire leg (thankfully). I need to wear it for 3 weeks and then I will see her again and start physical therapy. She also wants me to get orthotics for my shoes (which makes me feel like I am like 90 years old now…there goes my cute flip flops). But the orthotics make sense. I am flat footed; my feet pronate; so that throws the alignment off for my knees. So hopefuly I am on the road to better knee health.

But let me tell you…yesterday I had the HOTTEST x-ray tech ever. I could not believe how hot he was! If he would have let me, I would have taken his picture so you all could share in his hottness with me! Let’s put it this way, he was so hot, I forgot that my ass was hanging out of the back of the hospital gown when I stood up from the wheelchair!

Sorry your knee is bummed up again! I wear orthotics when I run. They sure do make a difference. Feel better.
