Just Trying to Impress the Moms…

Today, I saw the FUNNIEST thing I have ever seen. I took my kids and my grandma to McDonalds. The play area was FULL of moms and grandma’s and of course, kids. However there was one (yes 1) dad there with his boys. He was young…probably 30 at the most. Anyway, he was in the basketball area playing with his kids when one of the kids threw the ball out of the area. What happens next almost made me pee my pants. I.am.serious.

So dad runs out after the ball and decides to stand in the entrance way of the basketball area and take a shot from there. Though he should have taken about two more steps before throwing the ball. From one side of the entrance of the basketball area to the other side is a net. Probably to prevent the ball from flying out of the area if it were to bounce off the backboard…then it wouldn’t hit anyone sitting at the tables.

Anyway, the dad is standing just before the entrance to the basketball area. He reaches above his head (have you figured out what is about to happen yet?) and throws the ball towards the net. Only it never makes it to the hoop. Nope. Instead it hits the net between the opening and then bounces back and smacks him in the face. Right smack dab in the middle of his face.

Yes I laughed. Right out loud. I couldn’t help it. It was one of the those $10,000 America’s Funniest Home Video’s moments. Only I had no camera running. Damn, there goes my breast lift money. And if the fact that it hit him wasn’t funny enough, my grandma scolded me for laughing at him. That about sent me right over the edge. And since I am getting over Pneumonia, the laughing sent me into an extreme coughing fit and I am sure everyone in there thought I was some nasty chain smoker.

Ah well. So what did you do today?
