If You Don’t Laugh, Then You’ll Cry

That was said to me last week by a very wise person. And boy is it true. I’ve said before that I am going to write a book about my son and this time, I really mean it AND I’ve already started it! Ever since he was born, I’ve had many moments where I have totally laughed my butt off at some of the things that he has said, done, etc. I always say my life is chaotic and like a three ring circus, with my son as the ring leader. But you know something, if I don’t laugh (even when it seems like I would rather crawl into a corner and cry), I would spend all my time crying and/or miserable.

The other day we went to church and while Dan and I would like to go every Sunday, we are just not that good at waking up early on Sunday morning and making it out of the house on time. So anyway, this past Sunday we went to church and as we walk into the church (late I might add) Zachary says “Oh WOW I remember this place!” and yes he said it in a total Zachary LOUD voice and with utter amazement at this foreign place that he has only been to once in awhile. And yes, the church regulars did turn to look at us.

But this…this totally takes the cake. We’re sitting there and Zachary says to me “mommy you know when I came here with sitta and I brought my little toy skateboard? Well I left it here. Do you think God will give it back to me now?”. That had me laughing like crazy.

So while this child can make me frustrated like you wouldn’t believe, he is totally hilarious at times and one of these days when he is all grown up, these (and many many other stories) stories will be so much fun to retell!!
