Avon Lotus Shield Review and GIVEAWAY!!

It’s been insanely hot and humid here where I live.  We’re talking so hot that my windows are fogging up.  You walk outside and you feel like a thick, invisible hand is grabbing you by the neck and choking you.  Not only does it make your skin feel all hot and gross, but my goodness it just wreaks havoc on my hair.  I either end up with super flat hair that looks like it is insanely oily or it is so poofy and frizzy that I look like I am off to marry Frankenstein.

Not too long ago, I was approached by Avon to try out their new Advanced Techniques Lotus Shield…Avon’s very first anti-frizz product!  Of course I said yes and begged them to send it to me quickly.  I needed to try something with my hair.  I couldn’t keep looking like I didn’t bathe and just got out of bed and started my day.

Now if you are at all a reader of this blog, you will know that I love love LOVE Avon products.  And boy did this product NOT disappoint!  The very first time I used it, I made sure to style my hair like I always do.  Complete with flat ironing it at the end.  My hair looked amazing, felt amazing, and literally looked that good the very next day!  That never happens to me.   My hair is the type that needs to be washed every single day…it just never looks good the next morning.  But when I use Lotus Shield, I can get up and drive my son to school and not really look like I forgot to take a shower!!

The second time I used Lotus Shield, I decided to flip my hair upside down and blow dry with my head down.  That can go either way for me.  Sometimes it turns out OK, when other times it looks like I just got out of bed.  This is my new way to dry my hair on days that I really don’t have time to do much of anything!!  It looks really good!

If there has ever been a product that I have wanted to give a million thumbs up to, it’s Avon’s Lotus Shield.  Here is a little more info on Lotus Shield:

After one week of use, Lotus Shield:

  • Minimizes excess frizz, volume and poufiness
  • Provides frizz control that lasts
  • Prevents frizz and flyaways even in high humidity
  • Retains and protects style no matter what the weather

Lotus Shield is $12 and will be available beginning in late July 2010 exclusively through Avon Representatives. To locate an Avon Representative, call 1-800-FOR-AVON or visit www.avon.com.

Another product I like is the In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon Eau de Parfum Spray! It has really mild floral smell that's really nice 🙂

A haircare tip: In the shower when you're conditioner is working put a shower cap over your head. It keeps you hair nice and warm so the conditioner penetrates better.

Another hair care tip: If your hair tangles easily try using a hot oil treatment. It'll help smooth and detangle your hair.
