My Little Ninja

Last year at Bella’s school auction, I won a free month of Tae Kwon Do.  I signed Zack up because that’s all he kept asking us to sign him up for.  When I took him in, the instructor offered Bella a free month as well to try it out.  Zachary ended up not liking Tae Kwon Do.  He said it was boring and basically not for him.  It was apparent from how he was behaving in class that he did not like it.  So we gave him the option of sticking with it or not.  He chose to not do it.

Now Bella, on the other hand, was a regular little ninja.  From the very first moment she stepped on the mat, you could tell she loved it.  The amount of focus she had on the class was amazing.  Nothing took her eyes away from her instructor.  Not even the kid (Zack) running around the place, shook the eye contact she had with her teacher.

Just recently Bella was able to put gloves on in class and learn how to break boards.  She watched the kid next to her do it and move up from the yellow board, to the blue board, and finally breaking the red board.  When it was Bella’s turn she broke the yellow board on the very first try.  Mr. Scott, her teacher, asked her if she was ready for the blue board.  Bella shook her head.  She wanted to move right to the red board!  Mr. Scott explained that you had to do the blue board before the red board.  Believe it or not, Bella broke that blue board like it was nothing.  Now came the red board.  Unfortunately that board has proven to be a tad too hard for her.  But I don’t doubt she will get it sooner than later!

I’m glad she likes it.  Though the teacher did have to have a talk with her about when you use Tae Kwon Do and when you don’t.  And you definitely do not throw a jab into your brothers face when you don’t get your way!
