Did you know that it is estimated that 80% of all infections diseases are transmitted through hands?  Imagine all the things you touch throughout the day…now imagine how many other people touch those things as well.  Pretty gross, huh?  With kids going back to school, moms want to make sure their kids stay as germ free as possible.  Unfortunately, there are classrooms that do not have sinks in them so children don’t always have access to soap and water exactly when they may need it most.  With products like Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes, parents can make sure to keep a few in their child’s backpack and lunchbox to help keep their hands as germ free as possible.

Not only, as parents, can we teach our children the importance of clean hands, but Dr. Sears, a renowned pediatrician, offers parents five tips that can help keep our kids healthy and in school:

  1.   Begin the Day with a Brainy Breakfast: Children who start the day with a “brainy breakfast” that includes protein, fiber-filled carbs, Omega-3 fats and minerals like calcium and iron, do better in school and have fewer sick days.
  2.  Keep Hands Clean:  The first and easiest line of defense against the spread of germs is washing hands often, but when soap and water are not available, antibacterial wipes like Wet Ones® hand wipes are an effective alternative. Wet Ones® antibacterial wipes are proven to be just as effective as gel hand sanitizer in killing 99.99 percent of germs but they also clean away dirt and messes and won’t dry out skin like alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Keep them around the house, in lunchboxes and in pockets.
  3.  Feed Your Child Immune-Boosting Foods: The best way to boost the immune system is to increase the intake of fruits, vegetables, seafood and yogurt.
  4.  Keep Little Noses and Sinuses Clear:  Germs often settle first in the nose and sinuses, so it’s important to keep kids’ nasal passages clear by either flushing them out with a saltwater solution or loosening secretions with a facial steamer or vaporizer.
  5.  Keep Your Children Active: Movement mobilizes the immune system.  Kids who sit too much – especially indoors – get sick more often.  Movement also mellows the mood, as stress depresses the immune system.

I love the Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes.  The container fits nicely in my cup holder and I’ve made it part of our routine that once my kids get in the car after school, they wipe their hands down.  I like that 99.99% of the germs are killed before we leave the parking lot.  And my kids also they spend the rest of the time wiping everything they have touched since getting in the car!

In the wintertime when I can’t keep the wipes in my cup holder, I keep a packet of them in my purse.  It makes me feel like I am taking that extra little step to keep me and my kids healthy during cold and flu season.

Okay – this would actually be for our Church Nursery – we use Wet Wipes in their every week – with 35 children 3 years old and under, the kids in all three services get their hands wiped with Wet Wipes (exclusively, because we trust the cleansing properties of them!) before their snack! Thanks for the chance!

My daughter is in class with 25 other 2nd graders, it gets messy and she loves every minute of it. I would love to help her teacher keep the germs at bay 🙂

My son has 24 kids in his class. One child is constantly getting sick last year. It would be nice to be able to have something available to maybe help it so this child doesn't get sick as often.

I would actually love to divide the prize pack between my daughter's preschool (which has close to no budget for items of any kind) and my son's 4th grade class. Between the two kids they bring home germs and pass them onto our family leaving us all sick for weeks on end as the sicknesses travel through our family of five. These would make a great way to combat that and keep their entire classes healthy.

My daughter has multiple immune system issues and runs the risk of picking up every illness going around. I'd love to win these to give to her teacher to use as needed! Thanks!

My kids classrooms never have enough supplies. I would love to be able to give them something like this so they would have one less thing to worry about.

I work for a small charter school. I would be able to give a few packs to every class in the school if I won. I think it's important to have these handy since flu and cold season is coming up. Thanks for the opportunity.

awesome giveaway, first of all! We attended back to school night last week and the teachers asked the parents to bring in any donations that they could, as many of the supplies that the district hands out are less than desirable. The teachers take on many of these expenses by themselves and I just don't think it's right. My daughters school would flip for this!

I also wanted to add that by preventing my son from getting sick in his class, this helps from spreading viruses to our 1 year old daughter. There's nothing worse than a sick baby!

I would bring this into our Parent and Family Literacy Center. There are lots of kids/families in and out of there all the time and I believe this would help keep the amount of kids that get sick as a result of being there and sharing toys etc.

Another handy reason to carry these – is to wipe your hands after you leave the restrooms in a public place – the handles on those doors are nasty!

would divide these between my 2 daughters' classes. I cringe when I volunteer and I see them coughing and sneezing (and wiping noses) into hands and sleeves. Yuck!

Winning these Wet Ones would hopefully cut down on them passing germs around the classes AND bringing the germs home for all of us to get sick.

If you use a vinyl handbag or diaper bag – you can wipe the bottom of it with wet wipes to get all the germs off if it, if its been on the floor or in a shopping cart.

Our classes combined this year so we have more kids – 32 as opposed to 24 last year. More kids = more germs.

I have to add another use. We are in a perpetual rush in the mornings here. The kids barely finish eating b4 I'm herding them to the car. These are a godsend for wiping their faces to make sure they're presentable for school.
